BLUEBEAT is a collaboration between Moni Aksdal, brother - Tom E. Gundersen (ASKELADDEN) and Hemlock (CUBE LIVE). Moni introduces Tom as the main brain behind the productions. Where
Tom likes to refer to his sister as "The Creative Sound Doctor" as nothing gets past her unless its pure quality!
In 2007 Hemlock, owner and operator of Cube Live, joined the Bluebeat team. It was an easy decision having Hemlock join the team. His similar taste in music is uncanny, often thinking exactly the same thing when producing their music. The trio quickly became a strong innovative team, bringing their extensive experience, passion and talents of music production together.
Moni and Tom started the Bluebeat project in Stavanger - Norway back in 1998, but was left more or less dormant for a few years whilst Moni sorted a DJ career in London.
It was originally formed as a techno and trance oriented project in the early years, but as both siblings grew older, both tempo and music tastes matured.
Projects by
BLUEBEAT will prove to be a funky and unique live event for anyone lucky enough to catch these three in their element.
Live performances and studio production involving other creative spirits is the recipe for one of a kind experiences for listeners.
Moni does co-production, adds vocals, Dj's at some of London's most prestigious clubs and promotes new BLUEBEAT material in the UK.
Expect some amazing music from Bluebeat in the years to come!

BLUEBEAT SIGNS SURVIVAL REMIX TO FUNKLIFE RECORD LABEL!
| In August 2007, Moni was approached by Funklife recordings with the opportunity to remix a funky house track called Survival sung by Shelley Nelson. Moni, being the temptress of all that is FUNK, said YES!
And Bluebeat went straight to work to produce their very own remix. |
Many coffees and a few pot noodles later, a new remix was born! Then in October, Bluebeat was contacted by Funklife with news that their remix of survival had been accepted and was to be released on their label in 2007!
The remix of Survival has been heard around london at venues like Heaven, The Fridge and Telegraph. Showing a very positive reaction by clubbers on the dance floors. Giving the bluebeat team a good sign they have the right formula to get those bodies grooving! Moni says, "I'm really excited about the release! I love playing it out. Seeing everyone going at it! and enjoying themselves."
Funklife is a UK record label that was established in 2006. And although young, Funklife have become known as one of the UK's fastest growing Funky House Labels. BLUEBEAT DEBUT GIG A HUGE SUCCESS! - SKAZI @ RENAISSANCE ROOMS -

When the owner of Renaissance Rooms comes and tells you what an amazing production you have put on twice that night...you know you must be doing something right!!!!
Someone could ask, was the party on the main floor or in the Chill out room? Comments about the happy, picturesque atmosphere were heard. Not to mention talk about a style of music never to have been played live before by the BLUEBEAT crew, Moni (SOLIDKISS) and Tom (ASKELADDEN).
The room was ideal for all who needed to chill and chat, many people not leaving the room for the whole event! But who could blame them? The room being a sensory seduction with visual charm compliment with grooves for the soul. The audio implanted by Moni, Tom, DMX, Hemlock and Hefty was outstanding! Visually, the room was laced with a colourful array of independently lit fauna and other props keeping with the SKAZI psy-tance theme.
A big THANK YOU to Maria (NEVER ENOUGH) for the opportunity to share BLUEBEATS melodies to the world. And to Hemlock (Cube Live) for helping setup and supply the props.
